
FRANKFURT, June 13: Karen Kasturi, Deputy Treasurer of the National Women’s Leadership Council and elected EXCO Member of the Central Women’s Wing of Parti KEADILAN Rakyat ( People’s Justice Party), is expected to speak at a youth forum at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France today.
Karen, who is on an official visit to Europe from June11 to 17 June, is representing Malaysia and PKR at two prestigious international leadership programmes and participating in today’s European Youth Event will be among the highlights of her visit.
In a press release issued Thursday, Karen said she is participating in the Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP) in Mainz, Germany, an initiative that brings together young political leaders from Asia and Europe to deepen their understanding of parliamentary democracy, political party systems, and effective policy-making.
At today’s event in Strasbourg, a city along the Germany-France border, she will be speaking in front of a global audience of youth leaders, policymakers and civil society activists from around the world.
“It is a profound honour to be invited to speak at the European Parliament on behalf of Malaysia and Parti Keadilan Rakyat. It is a vital opportunity to share our unique Malaysian perspectives on inclusive democracy, women’s empowerment, and youth engagement in politics.”
EYE 2025 is a biennial flagship programme of the European Parliament that draws thousands of youth from across the globe for dialogue on critical issues such as climate justice, technology, good governance, and peace building.
A former Special Duty Officer to the Deputy Minister of National Unity Malaysia, Karen is a professional auditor with over a decade of experience, as well as a grassroots leader.
“I look forward to building meaningful exchanges with youth leaders from around the world and bringing back ideas that will enrich our efforts at home — especially in strengthening women’s and youth political participation and unity across diverse communities,” she added.
