KYOTO, May 16: When there is an understanding of the value of human existence, there will be no reasons for war, says author and Global Peace Ambassador Prem Rawat.
Rawat, who presented a public lecture here on Wednesday, May 14, in conjunction with the worldwide launch of his book “Breath” cited some of the recent conflicts around the world, including the brief crossfire between India and Pakistan, which arose from the killing of innocent tourists in the Indian administered Kashmir, and how negligible the value of a human life becomes in the course of events.
He also pointed out how ironic it was that wars are fought in order to achieve the desired condition: peace.
More than 300 people from all over the world attended the lecture programme here, jointly organised by the publisher of “Breath: Wake Up To Life”, Bunya and the Words of Peace Global.
The book is now available in 5 languages and is expected to be translated into more languages.
Bunya’s representative who also spoke at the event, commended the tireless efforts of Prem Rawat to bring his message of peace to the world for the last 60 years.

To a question from the floor on overcoming the difficulties in maneuvering life’s complexities, Prem Rawat said this can change and it would have to be the choice the individual would have to take.
“Life need not always be about the complexities. Look at at life from the simplest possible way, like how the breath brings existence and how without that, nothing would exist.”
Everything done, felt is the courtesy of the breath, but very little attention is paid to this fundamental fact, he said.
Prem Rawat, who has also authored several other books, including Splitting The Arrow and Hear Yourself: How to Find Peace in a Noisy World, is also the founder of the highly successful Peace Education Programme (PEP), which is currently run in more than 85 countries. More recently, he introduced the Peace Education and Knowledge (PEAK), an extension of the PEP. The programme takes participants through 10 sets of modules that highlight the strengths of a human being and empowers the person through the understanding of their own inner resources and capacities to navigate life with a clearer vision and acceptance.
